2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Age Swimming Championships: The NSW Blues Wrap Day 5
Another successful day for NSW swimmers as they climbed the podium on 16 occasions last night. The NSW haul was 3 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze… NSW has now won a total of 69 Medals.
In a stunning swim Se-Bom Lee (Carlile – Misha Payne) recorded his first ever sub 2-minute effort to win Gold in the 17 years 200m Backstroke in a time of 1:59.53. He was followed home by his NSW team mate Stuart Swinburn (Uni NSW – Coach Bruce Vyvyan) for a NSW 1-2 finish.
We had to wait to the end of the individual swims for another Gold medal performance. Robert Thorpe (Carlile – Misha Payne) took out the Boys 14 years 800m Freestyle in a time of 8:34.84…great effort! Once again NSW had a 1-2 finish with Bailey Krstevski (West Illawarra – Coach James Greathead) put together a superb swim in the morning heats to pick up the Silver medal in a 16.86 seconds PB of 8:37.37!
Our third Gold medal came from the all-conquering Knox Pymble 14-15 years 4 x 50m Freestyle Team of Joshua Collett, Tane Bidois, Ben Rothery and Joseph Hamson… congratulations to the boys and their coaches!
Last day today with the Multi-class events beginning at 4:00pm today and continuing Sunday and Monday.
