Swimming Australia offers its sincere congratulations to those athletes who have been recognised as part of today’s Australia Day Honours list.
Emma McKeon AM was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia following her record equalling medal haul at the Tokyo Olympics, while fellow Dolphins Ariarne Titmus OAM, Kaylee McKeown OAM, Zac Stubblety-Cook OAM, Meg Harris OAM, Chelsea Hodges OAM, Mollie O’Callaghan OAM and Brianna Throssell OAM were all awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of their Gold medal winning performances in Tokyo.
Paralympic swimmers Rowan Crothers OAM, Benjamin Hance OAM, William Martin OAM and Ben Popham OAM were also awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia following their outstanding achievements in Tokyo.
Swimming Australia CEO, Eugénie Buckley, said the awards were a reflection of the immense achievements in Tokyo.
“These honours are further recognition of the joy and sense of community the Dolphins provided Australians across a record equalling Olympics campaign,” Buckley said.
“We are incredibly proud of the example our athletes set, both in and out of the pool, and sincerely congratulate each of them on this thoroughly deserved reward.”
Swimming Australia’s Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Manager, and former Olympian, Linley Frame OAM, was also awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of her invaluable services to swimming and the community.
