RANDWICK & COOGEE LADIES SWIMMING ASSOCIATION INC
The 100 years exhibition tells the stories of the many courageous women who dedicated much of their lives caring for and supporting other women to establish a safe place for women to swim by the ocean. The broader Coogee & Randwick community has stood firmly with them in their battles to retain the pool for women and children only.
Over 40 local families have been involved in the ‘telling of their stories’ and in lending precious family photos and memorabilia for the Exhibition.
The official 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games blazer and swimming costume worn by R&CLSC Founding Member Mina Wylie will be on display along with trophies and medals won by R&CLSC Founding Member Gladys Lomax.
The Exhibition has been developed by Randwick & Coogee Ladies Swimming Association Members Colleen Kelly, Lynne Spender, and Rhonda Fadden and made possible through a Randwick City Council Community Creative Grant.
