After the excitement of what has been hailed Australia's greatest Olympic performance in the pool, we can hardly wait for our team of powerhouse para athletes to take on the world at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games! For those of you having Games withdrawals, fear not, the Paralympics kick off on Wednesday in what is set to be Australia's biggest-ever broadcast for Paralympic sport.

Seven's Games coverage will be anchored by Paralympic legend Kurt Fearnley, Johanna Griggs, and Paralympic gold medallist and Swimming Australia Director, Annabelle Williams.

The Australian Swimming Team of over 30 athletes has settled into the village after a stint in Cairns. Eight Mighty Blues will compete for Australia, with four athletes pulling on the green and gold for the first time. NSW coaches Jon Bell, Clinton Camilleri, Greg Towle and Yuriy Vdovychenko join the coaching contingent for the Australian Team.

Among the ranks of para debutants are Japan native and Auburn SC member, Ricky Betar (S14), World Para Champs bronze medallist, Jasmine Greenwood (S10) (Bay & Basin ASC), and up and coming SLC Aquadot SC contender, Alexander Tuckfield (S9).

Also making her Paralympic debut in the Women's 100m Breaststroke (SB14) and 200m IM (SM14) is Wagga Wagga local Ashley Van Rijswijk, who celebrates her twenty-first birthday at the Games (31 August).

Australia's top medallist from the Rio Games, Ellie Cole (Knox Pymble SC), commences her fourth Paralympic campaign this week. The 29-year-old has amassed 15 Paralympic medals, including six gold! Joining Cole in the ranks of Paralympic legend is steadfast North Sydney swimmer, and one of Australia's most decorated athletes, Matt Levy. Levy becomes the second ever Australian to compete in swimming at five Paralympic Games.

After bursting on to the world scene in Glasgow at the 2015 World Para Championships, powerhouses Tim Hodge (Auburn SC) and Tiffany Thomas Kane (Warringah Aquatic SC) kick off their second Paralympic campaigns in Tokyo. Hodge heads into his Tokyo program ranked number one in the world in the Men's 200m IM (SM9).

Tiffany Thomas Kane was the youngest Australian swimmer selected to compete at the 2015 World Para Championships, making waves on the world scene in the Women's 100m Breaststroke (SB6) event with a gold medal at just 13 years of age. A Paralympic gold medallist, Kane is going hard for the number one spot again in Tokyo, this time as an S7.
