Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre to Host 2023 Australian Short Course Championships

Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC) has been officially chosen as the venue to host the highly anticipated 2023 Australian Short Course Championships and is scheduled to take place from September 13 to September 16. With a seating capacity of 10,000, SOPAC is set to accommodate a large crowd following the success of last year's event.

This year's championships will witness elite swimmers from across Australia, including those who represented the Green and Gold at the World Championships along with talented athletes hailing from many states. The outstanding Aussie performances showcased at the World Aquatics World Championships (25m) held last December highlighted the excitement and thrill of a short course event.

Swimming Australia has released the qualifying times and program of events for the upcoming meet, which can be accessed on their official website's events page HERE. Aspiring participants are encouraged to review this information for their reference. Entries for the championships are set to open next week, with further details regarding accreditation and ticketing to be announced shortly thereafter.

Swimming NSW CEO Kirsten Thomson said "We are pleased to welcome athletes, coaches, and support staff to Sydney for this highly anticipated event. Swimming NSW will continue to work with Swimming Australia to  secure annual major events in NSW which will support NSW athletes and their families by reducing costs associated with attending national events, while providing opportunities for spectators to enjoy world class competitions."
