Community Sports Dad of the Year award!

11 August 2023

Nominate your Swimming Sports Dads for the Community Sports Dad of the Year award

Nominations are now open for the tenth annual Philips Community Sports Dad of the Year award, which acknowledges the contributions and positive impact that Australian dads have made to their sporting communities.

Whether it's a dad that coaches, helps the local sports club with funding or support, or simply plays competitive sport on the weekend, now is the chance to highlight a father who's an inspiration to your local sports club and community.

The Community Sports Dad of the Year winner will be provided with a $5,000 Rebel Sports voucher to donate to his sporting club of choice for some new gear or sporting equipment.

Back in 2017 a NSW Swimming dad, Richard Galea, won the award and used the funds to purchase equipment that was given to less fortunate families so that their children didn’t feel left out and enjoy swimming lessons.  Let’s see if we can bring back the title in 2023 to a swim dad!

To get involved, people simply need to go to sportsdads.com.au/community and explain in 100 words or less why they think their chosen sports dad should be crowned the Community Sports Dad of the Year. Nominations and entries end on Tuesday August 22, and the winner will be announced before Father's Day, Sunday September 3.  See the website for full terms and conditions.
