Australian Age Championships: Day 6 Wrap

Day 6: NSW Swimmers add another 20 medals at Age Champs:

Once again there was some great swims last night on Day 6 of the Australian Age Championships on the Gold Coast.

We had to wait a little to strike Gold but ended the night securing 4 Gold, 8 Silver and 8 Bronze. Congratulations to the following coaches and swimmers:

• Joshua Kerr (Manly – Coach Justin Rothwell) – Gold Boys 18yrs 50m Freestyle
• Harrison Tancred (Aquablitz – Coach Alyce Wierzbicki) – Gold Boys 200m Breaststroke
• Sebastian King (Newington – Coach Jared Goldthorpe) – Gold 17yrs 200m Backstroke
• Luke Higgs (Warringah – Coach Angelo Basalo) – Gold Boys 15yrs 400m Freestyle

All were impressive swims with swimmers trusting their race plans and executing under the pressure of a final. We all understand the pressures of performing on this stage, but a sense of calmness must be instilled in our swimmers and a trust in their race plans…
