Australian Age Championships: Day 3 Wrap

Day 1: Great start for the Mighty Blues including superb performances by our State relays: 

Day 1 of the National Age Championships at the Gold Coast got underway today with many great performances by our Mighty Blues swimmers. This is also a selection event for the Australian Junior Pan Pac Team and the Australian Oceania Team. Also, doubles for the Swimming Australia National Flippers Squad, SNSW Futures Squad and SNSW Sharks Squad. 

Congratulations to the following Australian Age Champions! 

  • Luke Lee (PLC Sydney – Coach Kevin Hyun) – Boys 14yrs 200m Backstroke 

  • Lillie Mcpherson (Manly – Coach Justin Rothwell) – Girls 15yrs 100m Freestyle 

  • Sienna Toohey (Albury – Coach Wayne Gould) – Girls 15yrs 200m IM 

  • Grayson Doig (Trinity Grammar – Coach Ben Tuxford) – Boys 16yrs 200m IM 

  • Luke Higgs (Warringah – Coach Angelo Basalo) – Boys 15yrs 1500m Freestyle 

The total Day 1 medal count stands at 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 9 Bronze – 18 medals.

Also, on Day 1 were the State 4x50m Freestyle Relays…all the relays improved on their entry times with the Mighty Blues swimmers completing a clean sweep – winning 6 from 6! Thank you to all the swimmers and their coaches…awesome swimming!
