Swimming is Australia’s highest participation sport which is synonymous with the Australian way of life. Swimming NSW is the peak body for Swimming in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. We aim to be the number one swimming state in performance and participation.
Our mission is to provide opportunities and pathways to enable everyone to enjoy swimming and develop the potential of all participants.
We invite applications for the position of an appointed Director for an initial one (1) to three (3) year term - to be determined by the Board and extension subject to mutual agreement.
Following a review of the skill set of the existing Directors, the Board seeks candidates with experience and skills sets in one or more of the following areas;
- The governance of the sport of Swimming
- Finance and Risk Management
- Commercial skills coupled with experience in product development
- Stakeholder engagement and management
The successful candidate will also have a strong business acumen supported by demonstrable strategic aptitude, financial literacy, a sound understanding of good governance and well-developed communication skills.
This is a Voluntary (unpaid) position.
The successful candidate will be required to complete background screening (including have a current Working with Children Check and Police Check) and agree to abide by the Swimming Australia Child Welfare Policy and Code of Conduct.
