Day 6 Finals and Team Announcement

A mixed night for NSW swimmers on the last night of finals. There were some great swims but in the toughest arena only the top two make the team…if they are under the tough qualifying standards. Here are the results from tonight:

•    In the Women’s 50m Freestyle Bronte Campbell (CRUIZ) finished 5th in 0:24.81…a great time with limited preparation. Olivia Wunsch (Carlile) placed 8th in another high quality event.
•    In the Men’s 400 IM, Junior World team member Joshua Kerr (Manly) put in another outstanding effort taking a further 3.19 secs off the PB he established in the morning heats. Joshua stopped the clock in 4:22.42 coming in 5th. In 6th place was Se-Bom Lee (Carlile).
•    In the Women’s 400 IM, Kayla Hardy (CRUIZ) placed 4th in 4:46.83 taking 1.83 secs off her morning heat swim. Coming in 6th & 8th positions were ACU Blacktown teammates Lexi Harrison and Jacinta Essam.
•    In the Men’s 100m Butterfly Shaun Champion (Abbotsleigh) put in a strong performance to come 3rd in a time of 0:51.88…just a tick over his personal best.
•    In the Women’s 1500m Freestyle Madeleine Gough (Carlile) placed 3rd in a time of 16:21.68.

With the Australian Team for the 2023 World Championships announced tonight we all would like to congratulate the following swimmers and coaches:
