Day 5 Finals:
In the final of the Men’s 200m Backstroke Bradley Woodward (Mingara-NSWIS HUB) booked his ticket to the World Championships by winning in a time of 1:56.04, well under the qualifying time. Bradley signalled his intent after swimming a PB in the morning’s heat…some 0.46 sec quicker than his entry time.

Congratulations to both Bradley and Coach Adam Kable who have worked so hard to get him onto this Australian World Championship team…well done to both. Also, swimming in the final were Stuart Swinburn (COSAC-NSWIS HUB) placing 5th, Alexander Foreman (KPD) placing 7th and Callum Thomas (The Hills) placing 8th…well done to all.

In other finals last night:
•    In the Women’s 100m Freestyle, Olivia Wunsch (Carlile) placed 8th in her first final in this company. Olivia, who is a member of the Australian Junior World Championship team would have learned a lot from the experience. Well done Olivia and her coach Michaela Pattinson.
•    In the Men’s 200m Breaststroke, Haig Buckingham (SOPAC) continued his run of PB’s. After smashing his PB in the morning heats he took off another 2.07 secs to finish in 2nd place posting a time of 2:12.05. Coming in 3rd was Angus Menzies (Knox Pymble) with a time of 2:13.13
•    In the Women’s 50m Backstroke Emily Jones (Hunter) placed 6th in a time of 0.28.96, taking 0.33 off her entry time.

Today is the last day of the trials and we wish all our NSW swimmers the best, let’s go MIGHTY BLUES!
