Day 3 Finals:

Day 3 finals belonged to two NSW young guns with both continuing to show great form. Haig Buckingham (SOPAC) smashed another PB out in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke. Haig, finishing 2nd took 0.43 off his entry time to post 0:27.53…an awesome effort to finish second and backing up his impressive swims in the 100m Breaststroke. Olivia Wunsch (Carlile) once again showed she belongs in this company shaving 0.40 from her entry time to finish in a tie for 4th place…I’m really looking forward to her 50m & 100m Freestyle events…she must be full of confidence after swimming well in the Butterfly events.

Matthew Galea (SOPAC) continued his good form in the Men’s 800m Freestyle finishing 3rd in a new PB time of 7:53.33. He continues to improve and I’m looking forward to seeing swim the 1500m Freestyle at the back end of the meet…hard work certainly brings out the best in him.

Some swimmers continued to improve their times in the B Finals…if these times were swum in the heats, they may have found themselves in the A final…one chance, you have to swim fast in the morning! Go for it!

Looking forward to day 4 and see how our Mighty Blues swimmers perform…let’s go NSW!
