Day 2 Finals:

The finals session on Day 2 kicked off with the Men’s 100m Backstroke with Bradley Woodward (Mingara, NSWIS HUB) swimming out of lane 4. After a great heat swim Bradley put together another gutsy effort in the final to finish second in a time of 0:53.85. Unfortunately, it was outside the automatic qualifying time of 0:53.00, as was the winner’s time. Bradley will now focus his efforts on the 200m Backstroke later in the week knowing he is on form and swimming fast.

In other A final swims last night Charlie Hawke (Hunter) placed 7th in the Men’s 200m Freestyle in a time of 1:47.25…0.25 less than his entry time. Charlie’s time was also under the Australia A team qualifying time. Shaun Champion (Abbotsleigh) put down a fast swim in the Men’s 50m Butterfly finishing 2nd in a PB of 0:23.46 taking an impressive 0.48 off his entry time…we are looking forward to his favourite 100m Butterfly later in the week.

Also, there were some strong swims in the B finals with Bella Grant (Trinity) swimming a PB in the Women’s 100m backstroke, Ryan Wilkes (Carlile) swimming a PB in the Men’s 200m Freestyle finishing 12th overall.
We now turn our attention to Day 3 where the heats action starts at 10:00am…GO THE MIGHTY BLUES!
