The Swimming NSW Young Officials Accelerator Program is your ticket into the exciting and rewarding world of swim officiating. Whether you're brand new or already on your way, if you’re aged 14–25, this program is built for you.
What’s Involved:
The program includes eight core sessions (mostly online) plus two exciting in-person opportunities:
- An eight-session development series covering the real-world skills, mindset, and knowledge officials need.
- Access to elite mentors and senior officials from across NSW.
- Live social session + “Lunch On Us” at the Senior State Age Champs (13 Dec)
- Hands-on officiating at Country Regionals in January (expenses covered by Swimming NSW)
What you’ll learn:
- How officiating works at every level
- How to prepare for meets (and handle the nerves)
- What to do when things don’t go to plan
- An intro to use tech tools like AOE & Hawk Eye
Commitment:
- Mostly online (sessions max 60 minutes)
- Attend 4 of the first 6 sessions to be eligible for the Country Regionals opportunity
- Session recordings available if you miss one
