Swimming NSW Volunteer Program

All Swimming NSW volunteers must nominate to attend our meets using the online nomination form listed below.

Due to the high number of volunteer interest, some meets will not require all nominations.

If you are not required for a particular meet or session, you will be informed prior to the start of the meet.

A roster will be sent out to the volunteers required; detailing the positions we need you to fill. All required volunteers will receive a Swimming NSW Accreditation for their sessions upon arrival.

Volunteers that show up WITHOUT this accreditation and who are not on the roster, will be asked to leave the pool.

If we require extra volunteer assistance after the roster has been completed, we will send an email to all volunteers on our database.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, please contact the Swimming NSW Events Manager via shannon.smith@nsw.swimming.org.au

Thank you.

General Information

Swimming NSW is calling on the assistance of volunteers for our upcoming Winter meets as listed below. We understand the benefits gained from utilising this valuable resource from previous seasons and will continue to engage the volunteer workforce to help assist technical officials in many areas.

On this page you will find up-to-date information relating to volunteering opportunities at SNSW events.

For a full list and details of upcoming events, please visit our Calendar Page.

Some meets have only a limited requirement for volunteers, due to the small size of the event. As this is the case, please know that your nomination may be declined for this reason.
For the smaller meets, we will accept volunteers on a first in, first served basis and will contact you if your volunteer services are not required.

If you have any questions regarding the volunteer nomination process, or general enquiries regarding volunteering and our events, please contact Shannon Smith on 02 8047 8503 or by email shannon.smith@nsw.swimming.org.au

All details received from volunteer applications will be retained by SNSW on our volunteer database for use at future events.  Unless otherwise advised, SNSW will contact existing volunteer members by email to provide details of future events in their Area.

If you have not yet completed this, you can apply for a WWC number HERE.

Please note: for volunteers (including volunteers and technical officials), this is free to obtain.

Under Age Technical Officials who are unable to obtain a WWC number should email Shannon Smith at  shannon.smith@nsw.swimming.org.au who will allocate an interim number.

A Helping Hand for Volunteers - Safe Work Australia - Volunteer Assistance Package

Safe Work Australia has launched a new Volunteer Assistance Package developed in partnership with Volunteering Australia.

The package includes a Volunteer Assistance Line, email and webpage designed to provide guidance and support to volunteers and volunteer organisations who may be affected by the new work health and safety (WHS) laws.

You can contact the Volunteer  Assistance Line on (02) 6240 4990 to talk to an expert for advice on how the new laws affect volunteers and their activities.  The Volunteer Assistance Package includes fact sheets, frequently asked questions and useful contacts and is available at the Safe Work Australia Website

Please note that this is not a Swimming NSW Ltd. program but it is a great resource to assist volunteers if required.
