Swimming NSW Nominated for 2024 Sport NSW Awards in Seven Categories

Swimming NSW is thrilled to announce its nomination for the 2024 Sport NSW Awards, with finalists in seven of the twelve award categories including Swimming NSW’s nomination for Organisation of the Year, recognising our contributions to the success and development of swimming across the state.

Among the nominated finalists are:

  • Timothy Hodge: Nominated for the NSW Office of Sport Athlete of the Year with a Disability. Hodge’s dedication and achievements in para-swimming including his medals from Paris continue to inspire and saw him win Swimming Australia’s Para-Athlete of the year.
  • Olivia Wunsch: A finalist for the UNSW Young Athlete of the Year, Olivia's rise through the swimming ranks showcases her immense talent and future potential on both the national and international stage. Her gold medal from the women’s 4x100 relay in Paris putting the cherry on the top of an fantastic 2024.
  • Chloe Osborn: Recognized as a finalist in the Variety Young Athlete of the Year with a Disability, Chloe has shown remarkable determination in 2024 to make the Paris Paralympic team and to top that she came home with a silver medal to boot.
  • Faye Lewis: Nominated for the Vailo Official of the Year, Faye’s commitment as a swimming official has been inspirational. Officiating in Paris at the Olympics she leads the way for officiating in NSW.
  • Misha Payne: As a finalist for Coach of the Year, Misha’s leadership and guidance have helped athletes under his care achieve even higher levels of success. Already winning Swimming Australia’s Para-Coach of the year for guiding Tim Hodge and Chloe Osbourne to Paralympic success he will be a strong contender in this category.
  • Swimming NSW Swim Sampler Weekend: Nominated for Event of the Year, this innovative event introduced swimming to new participants in regional NSW, promoting inclusivity and expanding grassroots participation.

The winners will be revealed at the prestigious NSW Champions of Sport Ceremony, held at The Star Event Centre, Pyrmont, on Monday, November 25, 2024. This ceremony is one of the highlights of the year, celebrating the achievements of NSW’s best athletes, coaches, officials, and sporting organisations.
