State Competition Squad Coach (SOPAC) Position

Swimming NSW and Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) are partnering to bring a world-class coaching program to the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC) Squad program. Swimming NSW will use its significant coaching experience to provide a team of Coaches that will provide athlete and coaching pathways from Learn to Swim through to the National Team at Australia’s premier Aquatic Centre.

The State Competition Squad Coach will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily and seasonal coaching programs for the State Competition Squad in line with the technical direction set by the Head Coach. It is vital that this Coach understands their role within the wider SOPAC Coaching program and develops and prepares swimmers to progress along the SOPAC Squad Pathway.

To be successful in this role, you will have specific age group performance swimming related experience and be demonstrate a track record of developing swimmers’ skills so they can achieve podium success at a State Age level. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about swimming and be committed to encouraging best practice in skill acquisition while creating an environment that is team focused and enjoyable.
