Swimming NSW wishes to advise that due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and government advice recommending restricting gatherings of more than 500 people, the upcoming Junior State Age Championships have been postponed until the 9th & 10th May 2020. This revised dated is subject to the government advice regarding gatherings being eased, SOPAC being able to host our event and most importantly Swimming NSW considering it safe for all attendees to attend the event.

We understand that this will be disappointing for many of our members however the safety of our competitors, coaches, volunteers and spectators is our first priority at all times. We appreciate that this timing won’t suit all our attendees for a variety of reasons, including the prospect of interrupted training over the next few weeks, but we felt it was still important to try and run this event for the swimmers who have put in so much time and effort over the summer season to qualify for this event. Please note that the age at date for the meet will remain as the 28th of March 2020.

We will provide a refund to all competitors who have entered the event on the 28th & 29th March 2020. Further information on how to access your refund will be distributed shortly along with instructions on how to enter the event on the revised date. This includes refunds for those who have purchased spectator tickets for the event.

Finally, we acknowledge that Sunday the 10th of May is Mother’s Day, so we are planning something special to recognise all of the swimmer mums out there.

For up to date information on requirements for the revised event, please check into our 2020 NSW Junior State Age Championships event page.
