Australian Open Championships Brisbane – 21st-24th April 2025 - Final Report
NSW swimmers delivered strong performances throughout the Australian Open Championships, demonstrating promising form in preparation for the upcoming Australian Trials in Adelaide in June. Following are some of the highlights from each day:
Day 1 Highlights:

Kayla Hardy (Cruiz) placed 4th in the Women’s 200m IM A Final (2:14.68 PB).

Jaimie De Lutiis (West Illawarra) was 7th in the Women’s 200m IM A Final and won SILVER in the Age Championship. She also placed 6th in the A Final and won SILVER in the Age Championship for the Women’s 100m Final.

Max Oldham (Sydney University) won BRONZE in the Age Final of the Men’s 50m Butterfly (24.42 PB).

Matthew Galea (SOPAC) won BRONZE in the Men’s 400m Freestyle A Final (3:51.42).

Bella Zhang (Manly) won BRONZE in the Age Final of the Women’s 50m Breaststroke (32.44 PB).

Adam Graham (Manly) won BRONZE in the A Final and SILVER in the Age Championship of the Men’s 200m Backstroke.

Stuart Swinburn (COSAC) won SILVER in the Men’s 200m Backstroke A Final (1:59.49).
Day 1 Multi-Class Highlights:

Daniel Rigby (Knox Pymble) won SILVER in the Men’s 400m Freestyle (4:42.52 PB).

Hannah Price (Campbelltown) won GOLD in the Women’s 400m Freestyle (4:47.78 PB).

Declan Budd (Knox Pymble) won SILVER in the Men’s 200m Freestyle (1:56.40 PB).
Day 2 Highlights:

Jessica Cole (West Illawarra) won BRONZE in the Women’s 200m Butterfly (2:11.94) and GOLD in the Age Championship, qualifying for the SA World Junior Team.

Matthew Galea (SOPAC) won BRONZE in the Men’s 1500m Freestyle (15:20.31).

Jaimie De Lutiis (West Illawarra) won GOLD in the Age Championship of the Women’s 50m Freestyle.
Day 2 Multi-Class Highlights:

Timothy Hodge (Blacktown) won GOLD, Declan Budd (Knox Pymble) won SILVER, and Jesse Aungles (Cruiz) won BRONZE in the Men’s Multi-Class 100m Backstroke.

Jasmine Greenwood (Woden Valley) won GOLD in the Women’s MC 100m Breaststroke (1:10.83).
Day 3 Highlights:

Amelie Springett-Kelly (COSAC) won GOLD (144.19) and Maddison Hinds (Hornsby) won BRONZE (1:30.05) in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke.

The Australian Championships saw NSW swimmers achieve significant success, with numerous medals won and personal bests recorded, highlighted by the outstanding achievements of our Multi-Class athletes. Swimming NSW congratulates all the NSW Mighty Blue swimmers and coaches on their performances throughout the four days of competition and extends best wishes for the upcoming Australian Trials for the World Championship and Para World Championship teams, both competitions to be held in Singapore.
