Important Update: New ID Photo Requirement for National Events

09 January 2025

Swimming NSW would like to inform all members about an important new process implemented by Swim Central for athletes entering National events. This update is essential to ensure all participants meet entry requirements and avoid potential disqualification.

What’s New?

When athletes register for a National meet through Swim Central, they are now required to upload an ID photo (referred to as a "Passport Size Photo"). Please note:

  • Do not upload an actual passport or legal document. This is a breach of privacy and will be rejected.

  • The term "Passport Size Photo" only indicates the approximate size of the image required.

Deadline to Upload

Once an athlete processes their entry for a National event, they have 6 days to upload an appropriate ID photo.

  • If the photo is not uploaded within this timeframe, the entry will be automatically rejected, and a refund will be issued.

  • Athletes will need to start the entry process again if they wish to compete.

Why This Matters

To ensure no swimmer misses their chance to compete.

How to Prepare

  • Follow the step-by-step guides provided on the Swim Central event pages under “Athlete Photo Required.”
  • Make sure the photo you upload meets the requirements to avoid delays.

For more details or assistance, visit the Aus Swimming website or contact Swim Central support.

Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a smooth process for all our swimmers.
