At Swimming NSW, we value the feedback of our community—parents, swimmers, and coaches—and use it to continuously improve our events. We’re thrilled to announce exciting updates to medal presentations and finalist recognitions, ensuring an even more rewarding experience for our swimmers.
More Medals, More Recognition
To celebrate individual achievements, we’re introducing separate medals for each individual age group at Senior State Age events. Finals will also be expanded to feature races swum in individual age groups. While some events will continue to be combined for efficiency, this change means over 350 medal presentations will take place—offering more opportunities to recognise the hard work and talent of our swimmers!
Streamlined Medal Presentations
To keep the excitement flowing and avoid delays, we’re implementing a new medal collection system. Results will be announced as they become available, and swimmers can collect their medals from the pool deck table at a convenient time during the evening. This ensures every winner is celebrated while keeping our sessions efficient and enjoyable for all.
New Photo Podium Area
We’re introducing a brand-new photo podium area, located next to the merchandise stand on the bridge! This dedicated space, complete with photo boards and selfie frames, allows swimmers, families, and friends to capture unforgettable moments with their medals. It’s the perfect way to celebrate achievements and create lasting memories!
Updated Finalist Ribbon Criteria
As part of our commitment to fostering enthusiasm in younger swimmers, finalist ribbons will now be awarded exclusively at Junior Championship events and the NSW Country Championships for 9–12-year-old competitors. This change ensures recognition where it matters most, encouraging the next generation of swimming stars.
