Day 4: Yang puts his hand up, Greenwood sprints to Gold:
On a night of great racing, NSW swimmer Will Yang (SOPAC – Coach Adam Kable – NSWIS) certainly put his hand up and let everyone know he is back to his best. Will swam a new PB of 48.20 to eclipse his entry time by 0.28. Will’s recovery from back surgery is remarkable and a very big congratulations to Adam Kable who has done a terrific job in getting Will back to his best…great support and great coaching. We wish Will well in his final preparations for the Olympic Trials.
Whilst the conditions on the night were dire, the action in the pool wasn’t! Bella Grant (Trinity Grammar – Coach Ben Tuxford) was certainly put to the test with two races in 30 minutes…winning medals in both! First up for her was the 200m backstroke and she finished with a silver medal (Age) in a great time of 2:12.72. Whilst her competitors were staying warm, she swam down for a few minutes then went to the marshalling area wrapped in a towel and jacket only. She finished the race in a new PB of 59.07 and claimed the bronze medal…remarkable show of resilience in adverse conditions.
In the Multi Class racing last night Jasmine Greenwood (Cruiz – Coach Marty Roberts – AIS Program) took out the Womens 50m freestyle in a time of 28.79. That takes her personal tally for the meet to 3 Gold & 2 Bronze…congratulations to Jasmine and her coach Marty!
