Swimming NSW Touring Team take USA Swimming 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships
Day 3 Heats
It was a tough day for NSW swimmers today with only the 400 IM’s & 100 Butterfly on offer. First away was Jacinta Essam (Ginninderra – Coach Shannon Rollason – ACT HUB) in the W 400 IM. Jacinta’s time was 4:52.24 giving her a 38th placing overall. The 24th fastest time that made the C final was 4:49.86.
The next NSW swimmer in the water was Abbey Webb in the W 100 Butterfly. Her time of 1:01.75 was 96th with 59.66 making the top 24. In the men’s 100 fly we had Shaun Champion (Abbotsleigh – Coach Amanda Isaac) and Edward Marks (Carlile – Coach Adam Kable – NSWIS HUB) lining up. Edward swam a great PB in his heat finishing with a time of 52.97 and making the C Final (20th spot)…the top 8 cut was 52.35. Shaun came in 35th with a time of 53.66…exactly the same as his entry time! (top 24 was 53.25). Also making the C final was an American named Ryan Lochte…
So that was it for the morning prelims with Edward swimming the C final of the 100 fly and the W 4 x 200m Free relay tonight.
