South Australia is full of family-friendly activities. Get up-close to wildlife at the Adelaide Zoo, go strawberry picking in the Adelaide Hills, or head to The Beachouse at Glenelg and spend the day on wild waterslides, dodgem cars, and arcade games. Just 15 minutes’ drive from the championships is the Mega Adventure's aerial park where you can let your inner ninja warrior explore high-rise monkey bars that will have your heart pounding.

Shopping
Adelaide is the perfect place to fill your shopping bags. Treat yourself at Rundle Mall – over 700 retailers in one convenient pedestrian-friendly strip, and discover boutiques selling local designs and higher-end clothing stores on Rundle Street.

Explore
See a different side of Adelaide on a tour, charter or cruise. Experience our beautiful landscapes from the sky on a hot air balloon flight, or on a riverboat along the gorgeous Murray River. Temptation Sailing at Glenelg offers private cruises and dolphin swimming expeditions along South Australia's stunning coastline.

Food and Drink
For the over-18s, explore Adelaide’s small bar scene. Adelaide’s East End bars are some of the finest you’ll find in South Australia. Indulge at one of the city’s favourite restaurants – Africola, Shobosho, Peel St, Golden Boy, Osteria Oggi… There’s also a thriving late-night dessert culture, think luxurious dessert kitchens, intimate sweet cafés, decadent delis, and contemporary ice cream parlours.

TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENT UPDATE:
There will be a northbound slow lane closure in place for Thursday 17 April, 10am-1pm, which may cause delays.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: 

There will be temporary disruptions to the public transport network throughout the Age Championships. The Seaford line will be temporarily closed for three weeks between 12 April and 5 May. Normal train services will resume from first service Monday, 6 May.

During the Seaford Line closure, trains will run between Seaford Railway Station and Brighton Railway Station, with substitute buses between Brighton Railway Station and Adelaide Railway Station.

The Tonsley Line will also be temporarily closed, with substitute buses running between Tonsley Railway Station and Adelaide Railway Station. Information for substitute bus stops for each railway station and timetable changes will be available on the Adelaide Metro website. 

During this time, there will be crews working 24/7 across the site. It will be incredibly busy and for more information on the rail line closure and works, see the March Newsletter.

Rail infrastructure has been delivered to site and crews are welding rail tracks, ready for installation. You can read about it here.
